From the Brockton Enterprise, April 4, 1885:

"The grand stand will be 100 feet long and 28 feet deep, and will seat 1500 persons. It will be neat in design. There will also be 1000 free seats. A bandstand will be erected, and everything about the grounds will be arranged for the comfort and convenience of the public."
