Memorable Moments:
- Satchel Paige pitched a perfect game here through eight innings in 1947. In the
ninth he intentionally walked the first three batters, then signaled for all of the fielders, except his battery mate, to sit down, and proceeded to strike
out the side on nine pitches.
- Negro World Series Games: Game 4, 1945; Game 3, 1947

This park was originally built in the 1920s by the Pennsylvania Railroad for use by their YMCA team. Coal smoke from passing trains would often
cause fielders to loose fly balls of for games to be delayed.
Miss Hattie Williams ran the hot dog stand behind home plate. Her dogs were boiled in a wash tub over a wood fire. Amazingly, the stands never fell
down, as Williams would get her wood by chopping away at the grandstand supports with her hatchet.
