This ballpark's quirks come from its footprint. It is wedged into a triangle plot where the Little Conemaugh and Stonycreek Rivers merge to form the Conemaugh River.
As a result, left and right are short while center is huge. Left field is so short, there is a 70 foor net above the wall, and all balls hit off of it are in play. Center is so
deep there used to be a ticket booth out there. In 1944, the ballpark's upper deck was closed for safety concerns and removed in 1960. In 2002, the park was torn down and replaced
with a more modern one. The movie All the Right Moves was filmed here. This park has been home to various minor league and college baseball for a very long time.
