Josh Gibson belted a 513 foot homer here. He claims it was the longest he ever hit.
This from Dan Zyglowicz of the Greater Monessen Historical Society,
"Page Park was located next to the Page Woven Wire Fence Company along Donner Avenue. To access the Park, a person took the tunnel on Tube Street under the railroad tracks and turned left walking between the right field and the railroad tracks to the bleachers beside the river. Home plate was at the river. In cold weather, spectators froze as the damp wind blew off the river. The field was never grassy but remembered as always muddy."
