This park was home to the City Recreational League's Crawfords. Josh Gibson began his career on this field. Charlie Hughes played second base. A rain gutter ran across second, and would fill up with water. For a while, Charlie tried to cover up the gutter, but it wasn't going so well, so he became ridiculous good at fielding bad hop balls.
Gus Greenlee ended up adopting this team, and everything changed. Amateur baseball is still played here, but the park is now known as Josh Gibson Field.
