Ridgewood Park

Brooklyn, NY

Team: Brooklyn Bridegrooms (Sundays, 1886) AKA: Horse Market, Meyerrose's Park

In 1883, Ridgewood Park, which was a vacant lot at the time, used to house amateur baseball. The former site of horse auctions, balls that rolled under the nearby pumping station fence, were considered homeruns. This park was said to be dilapidated and the bleachers never would reach the second story of a house.
