Owner, Frank McCourt, says "We are constructing a new stadium without tearing down the old." The Dodger, who play in one of the oldest facilities in baseball, want to preserve their crown jewel of a ballpark for the next fifty years with these improvements. They want to make Dodger Stadium a destination year round. The three main components are as follows:

This plan will be the capstone of the McCourt's renovation plans since they took over as owners. Other improvements they have completed include replacing the playing field, improving the warning track, replacing most of the seats, and renovating the concourses. Other needs that will be addressed are the construction of a central ticketing location, new rest rooms, more concourse work, and a retail store.

The Dodgers will use "Green" techniques for their construction. The new construction will be designed to meet "LEED' sustainability requirements. In addition, most waste will be recycled, the plants will be native or drought resistant, energy efficient lighting and appliances, and constructing with recycled materials.
